Upcoming Construction Projects in Kerrisdale: The City of Vancouver is beginning construction along several roads in the Kerrisdale area, resulting in road closures, reduced parking availability, bus stop changes on West Boulevard, sidewalk disruptions and an increase in traffic.

Please allow yourself ample time to arrive at your appointment (arriving in the Kerrisdale area 10-15 minutes prior to your appointment time), as construction is expected to continue throughout the summer and into next year.

Physiotherapists graduate with basic skills in manual therapy and continue to improve their skills through various continuing education options. One of our expectations at Treloar Physiotherapy is that our physiotherapists will work toward and complete their exams to become Fellows of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapists Association (FCAMPT). To achieve this designation they must have excellent manual skills and a thorough knowledge of assessment and treatment approaches for patients with orthopaedic problems.

Telehealth (Online) Physiotherapy

Tele-Rehabilitation or Online Physiotherapy Video-Sessions are the use of information or communication technologies to allow you and your physiotherapist to connect via audio and/or video to receive physiotherapy services at a distance when an in-person visit is not possible. Please note that Telehealth services at our clinic can only be provided when the patient's location is in BC, Canada.

Yvonne graduated from Pacific Rim College’s 3-year Diploma of Acupuncture program in 2016, and completed the national board exams to become a licensed member of the BC regulatory board, CTCMA. She previously completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Victoria in 2010.

Using the theory and holistic approach of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Yvonne is able to treat a wide variety of conditions. She is passionate about using acupuncture to treat issues such as pain relief, stress, anxiety/depression, insomnia, digestive disorders and smoking cessation. Yvonne also has a special interest in women’s health issues such as menstruation regulation, infertility, pregnancy and labour. Her approach includes the use of traditional acupuncture, cupping, and gua sha.

Yvonne has also taken supplementary workshops in Sports Medicine Acupuncture, Traditional Acupuncture in Pregnancy, Labour and Postpartum, Channel Examination and Diagnosis, and Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture.

Jonathan completed his Masters in Physiotherapy at the University of Queensland in 2010 and had been working as a physiotherapist in Brisbane, Australia, until moving back to Vancouver in November 2016. Prior to that he worked as a Registered Kinesiologist following the completion of this Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Certificates in Health and Fitness and Applied Human Nutrition from Simon Fraser University in 2006.

Jonathan completed his Integrated systems model (ISM) training with Diane Lee in 2019. He has extensive training in Clinical Pilates and is a certified Pilates Instructor through Polestar Pilates. Jonathan is also certified in Musculoskeletal Acupuncture and Dry Needling through Combined Health.

Sport and physical activity have played a large role throughout his life. Since 2011, Jonathan has been drawn to the mind-body benefits of yoga, which he practices almost daily. The combination of his work and personal practice experience has influenced the way he approaches his physiotherapy treatment.

Jonathan has a holistic movement-focussed approach to physiotherapy. Throughout his career he has worked with patients of all ages and abilities which has included professional athletes and dancers. Whether for pain, rehabilitation or performance, he uses a combination of manual therapy, exercise and other modalities to achieve optimal movement quality. Jamie completed her Master of Physical Therapy at Western University, and her Bachelor of Science at the University of Waterloo. She has successfully completed Level I & II Upper and Lower Quadrant Manual Therapy courses through the National Orthopaedic Division Advanced Integrated Musculoskeletal (AIMS) Physiotherapy Program. She is a certified GLA:D program instructor for Hip and Knee Osteoarthritis.

She has over three years of physiotherapy experience at St Paul’s Hospital working with a range of clientele, including people with acute neurological conditions, joint replacements, cardiac and respiratory illness and geriatric populations.

She genuinely enjoys helping people reach their physical goals, whether it is recovering from injury, preventing injury, learning a new activity or wanting to optimize performance!

Chelsea completed her Master of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto in 2021, and her Bachelor of Kinesiology at the University of British Columbia. Since then, she has received certification for Level 2 Upper Quadrant, Level 2 Lower Quadrant, and Level 3 Lower Quadrant from National Orthopedic Division’s Advanced Integrated Musculoskeletal manual therapy program. In addition to her manual therapy skills, she has also been certified and rostered in the province to perform IMS/Dry needling through completing the Anatomical Neuropathic Intramuscular Stimulation (AN-IMS) course offered by Foundations Health Education. Chelsea also takes a special interest in pelvic floor care and has taken courses from Pelvic Health Solutions and Pelvic Rehab Courses pertaining to incontinence, prolapse, and pelvic floor pain from a trauma informed lens.

Through her experience and education, Chelsea appreciates how the musculoskeletal system and nervous system adaptively work together to optimize our daily function and believes that helping everyone to understand how their bodies work will provide them peace of mind. Ultimately, she will work with you to the best of her abilities to ensure that you are moving better and moving pain-free through a combination of prescriptive exercise, manual therapy, and most importantly education around movement and symptom management.

Chelsea has had experience working with people of all ages and with rehabilitating overuse injuries, sports injuries, frozen shoulder, chronic lower back pain, MVA associated injuries, post-operative/total joint replacements, neuromuscular conditions, and pelvic floor dysfunction in a variety of contexts. She is adamant in ensuring that her clients receive evidence-based and innovative treatments that are in their best interests.

When Chelsea isn’t in the clinic, she is a very passionate food and coffee enthusiast; she is always open to giving and receiving recommendations in the Lower Mainland! To balance out her food adventures, she keeps active by lifting weights at the gym, kickboxing, playing golf, pickleball, and tennis.

Christina completed her Master of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Alberta in 2007. Upon graduation, she returned home to Vancouver and has since worked in private practice orthopedic physiotherapy. She has successfully completed the Canadian Physiotherapy Association Orthopedic Division’s Advanced Examination in Manual and Manipulative Therapy and is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapists.

In addition to her practice of physiotherapy, Christina is also a Clinical Pilates Instructor having completed the rehabilitation stream (Mat and Reformer) in STOTT pilates. As well, she brings extensive experience as a kinesiologist, exercise therapist and personal trainer. She enjoys treating all types of patients and firmly believes in an individualized, multi-modal treatment philosophy combining manual therapy, dry-needling/acupuncture, pilates and other specific exercise techniques to improve mobility, restore function and prevent injury.

As a mom of two young children, Christina has developed a keen-interest in treating pre and post-natal women and helping them restore function, strength and balance in their new bodies.

Alexia completed her Master of Physical Therapy at the University of British Columbia, where she also earned a Bachelor of Kinesiology. She has received her Clinical Pilates certification through Calibrate, holds Level 1 certification in the Advanced Integrated Musculoskeletal Program and is certified in treating running injuries through The Running Clinic.

Her journey to become a physiotherapist was inspired by her passion for health sciences and how the body moves. As someone who grew up actively involved in sports such as dragon boating, cheerleading, gymnastics, track and field, and ultimate frisbee, Alexia developed a deep appreciation for movement and its impact on overall well-being. During her undergraduate studies, she was drawn to the breadth of a physiotherapist’s role, from empowering individuals to regain function and mobility in daily life to helping athletes return to sport. Alexia values working collaboratively with her clients to create treatment plans that combine education, manual therapy and exercise.

Outside the clinic, Alexia enjoys running, lifting weights, exploring new cafes and delving into a good book. She is conversational in Cantonese and is passionate about helping her clients feel supported in achieving their health and movement goals.
