A session will involve a detailed history and assessment of your posture and pelvic mechanics. An internal exam is normally carried out (either vaginal and/or rectal) to assess the pelvic floor muscles. Electrotherapy / Shockwave can be used in conjunction with your Physiotherapy appointment if your Physiotherapist recommends it as part of your treatment plan.


Telehealth (Online) Physiotherapy

Tele-Rehabilitation or Online Physiotherapy Video-Sessions are the use of information or communication technologies to allow you and your physiotherapist to connect via audio and/or video to receive physiotherapy services at a distance when an in-person visit is not possible. Please note that Telehealth services at our clinic can only be provided when the patient's location is in BC, Canada.

Danielle completed her Master of Physical Therapy at the University of British Columbia, and her Bachelor of Human Kinetics with a Minor in Biology at the University of British Columbia Okanagan. She has received her level 1 certification in the National Orthopaedic Division Advanced Integrated Musculoskeletal (AIM) Physiotherapy Program. Previously, she has worked as an artistic gymnastics coach and powerlifting coach. She enjoys using manual therapy techniques, education, and individualized exercise prescription to help clients reach their goals.

Growing up as a competitive gymnast, Danielle experienced a fair amount of injuries and physiotherapy visits. This experience really led to her passion for learning about the human body, how it moves, and how to recover from injuries. She has always wanted a career where she could work with people every day and help them get back to the activities they love, so physiotherapy seemed like the perfect fit.

Danielle enjoys maintaining an active lifestyle and exploring what Vancouver has to offer. Outside of the clinic, you can find her snowboarding at Whistler, hiking, lifting weights, or trying out new places to eat and coffee shops.

Yvonne graduated from Pacific Rim College’s 3-year Diploma of Acupuncture program in 2016, and completed the national board exams to become a licensed member of the BC regulatory board, CTCMA. She previously completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Victoria in 2010.

Using the theory and holistic approach of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Yvonne is able to treat a wide variety of conditions. She is passionate about using acupuncture to treat issues such as pain relief, stress, anxiety/depression, insomnia, digestive disorders and smoking cessation. Yvonne also has a special interest in women’s health issues such as menstruation regulation, infertility, pregnancy and labour. Her approach includes the use of traditional acupuncture, cupping, and gua sha.

Yvonne has also taken supplementary workshops in Sports Medicine Acupuncture, Traditional Acupuncture in Pregnancy, Labour and Postpartum, Channel Examination and Diagnosis, Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture and Kiiko Matsumoto Style (KMS) Acupuncture.

Jamie graduated from Western University (London, Ontario) in 2020 with a Master of Physical Therapy. She completed her undergraduate degree at University of Waterloo for my Bachelor of Science, Honors Kinesiology & Minor in Rehabilitation (Co-op).

She has three years of experience in Acute Care at St Paul’s Hospital working with a range of clientele, including people with acute neurological conditions, joint replacements, cardiac and respiratory illness, and geriatric populations. Over the past five years, Jamie has also worked as a Personal Trainer using exercise to assist with injury prevention. She completed her Level I Manual Therapy Certification (2020) and will be continuing her Level II course in 2023.

She genuinely enjoys helping people reach their physical goals, whether it is recovering from injury, preventing injury, learning a new activity or wanting to optimize performance!

Angela obtained her Master of Physical Therapy at the University of Western Ontario in 2023, and her Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of British Columbia. She has also received her Level 1 certification in the National Orthopaedic Division Advanced Integrated Musculoskeletal (AIM) program.

Her decision to pursue a career in physiotherapy began with her own experiences as a patient, where she was inspired to enter the field after witnessing the positive impact of it on her well-being. Angela firmly believes that physiotherapy plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life and empowering individuals through personalized treatment plans.

Angela is deeply passionate about various aspects of her life, with one aspect being the establishment of meaningful connections with the people around her. This principle extends to her work as a clinician: forging these connections with her patients enables her to provide holistic and personalized care to individuals of all ages, professions, and activity levels. Michiko became passionate about pelvic health physiotherapy and sexual health after her personal experience with severe sexual dysfunction and pelvic pain. Ten years ago, she was anxious, depressed, stressed, and overworked. She experienced severe pelvic pain and was diagnosed with vulvodynia, a chronic pain condition for which there is no identifiable cause. After committing to rehabilitation, she saw significant improvements and has been symptom-free 8 years and counting!

Her personal accounts and professional work have been published in medical journals, such as The Journal of Ethics in Mental Health, and she is often interviewed for her professional insight in popular magazines and podcasts.

Michiko holds a Bachelor of Human Kinetics from the University of British Columbia, a Master of Science in Physical Therapy and a Master of Health Science in Bioethics from the University of Toronto. She loves to learn! She is a Registered Pelvic Health Physiotherapist with over 15 years of experience in clinical, research, education, and leadership roles in rehabilitation, health care and fitness.

She has taken courses to offer pelvic health physiotherapy for all genders, including pre- and post-gender-affirming surgeries. Michiko treats all pelvic health conditions, including but not limited to: incontinence, dysfunctional voiding, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain, sexual dysfunction, abdominal pain, endometriosis, prenatal and postpartum concerns, post-operative rehabilitation, and much, much more!

Michiko is passionate about relationships: she believes that developing rapport and positive communication are the pillars in rehabilitation.

As a pelvic health physiotherapist, her goal is to work in partnership with each of her clients to craft a personalized care plan that will meet their specific needs. Christina completed her Master of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Alberta in 2007. Upon graduation, she returned home to Vancouver and has since worked in private practice orthopedic physiotherapy. She has successfully completed the Canadian Physiotherapy Association Orthopedic Division’s Advanced Examination in Manual and Manipulative Therapy and is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapists.

In addition to her practice of physiotherapy, Christina is also a Clinical Pilates Instructor having completed the rehabilitation stream (Mat and Reformer) in STOTT pilates. As well, she brings extensive experience as a kinesiologist, exercise therapist and personal trainer. She enjoys treating all types of patients and firmly believes in an individualized, multi-modal treatment philosophy combining manual therapy, dry-needling/acupuncture, pilates and other specific exercise techniques to improve mobility, restore function and prevent injury.

Jonathan graduated from The University of British Columbia with a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy in 2011. He also completed his Bachelor of Science majoring in Cell Biology/Genetics and minoring in Human Kinetics in 2008. Since completing his Master of Physical Therapy, Jonathan has continued to develop professionally through continuing education and mentorship. Most recently, Jonathan completed his Advanced Diploma in Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy through the Canadian Physiotherapy Association’s Orthopaedic division. Jonathan is also certified in Acupuncture through Acupuncture Canada and has incorporated dry needling into his practice since 2013. Chelsea completed her Master of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto and her Bachelor of Kinesiology at the University of British Columbia. Prior to receiving her physiotherapy training, Chelsea had plenty of experience working with people living with spinal cord injuries and other neurological conditions as she enjoyed volunteering at the Blusson Spinal Cord Centre and worked as an undergraduate research assistant at the GF Strong Rehabilitation Centre. From this exposure, Chelsea developed a passion and appreciation for how the musculoskeletal system and nervous system adaptively work together to optimize our daily function.

Chelsea believes in helping all of her clients understand how their bodies work to provide them peace of mind. She performs this through a combination of education, active listening, manual therapy, and prescriptive exercise to facilitate an optimal environment for healing so that clients can achieve their goals. Chelsea has had experience working with people of all ages and with rehabilitating overuse injuries, total joint replacements, chronic lower back pain, MVA associated injuries, neuromuscular conditions, and pelvic floor dysfunction in a variety of contexts. Allison studied biology and kinesiology for her undergraduate degrees at UBC’s Vancouver campus, and continued at UBC to obtain her Master of Physical Therapy. She has completed additional training in pelvic floor physiotherapy (incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, painful intercourse, pelvic girdle pain, prostate cancer and removal, pre- and post-partum care, and pessary fittings), running assessment, manual therapy, and rehab STOTT Pilates.

Growing up, Allison often saw a physiotherapist for injuries from playing competitive soccer and field hockey. Her physiotherapist had a big impact on her ability to stay active in sports, and she felt inspired to provide the same care and support to others.

Jonathan completed his Masters in Physiotherapy at the University of Queensland in 2010 and had been working as a physiotherapist in Brisbane, Australia, until moving back to Vancouver in November 2016. Prior to that he worked as a Registered Kinesiologist following the completion of this Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Certificates in Health and Fitness and Applied Human Nutrition from Simon Fraser University in 2006.

Jonathan completed his ISM training with Diane Lee in 2019.  He has extensive training in Clinical Pilates and is a certified Pilates Instructor through Polestar Pilates. Jonathan is also certified in Musculoskeletal Acupuncture and Dry Needling through Combined Health.

Sport and physical activity have played a large role throughout his life. Since 2011, Jonathan has been drawn to the mind-body benefits of yoga, which he practices almost daily. The combination of his work and personal practice experience has influenced the way he approaches his physiotherapy treatment.

Steve completed his Bachelor of Human Kinetics at UBC in 1998, followed by his post-graduate physiotherapy degree at the University of Toronto in 2001. Prior to returning to Vancouver in 2007, he worked in a busy multi-disciplinary sport medicine clinic in Toronto, Ontario. In 2005, Steve successfully completed the Canadian Physiotherapy Association’s post-graduate Advanced Diploma in Manual & Manipulative Physiotherapy while becoming a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapists. Steve is also certified in Acupuncture, Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS), Gokavi Transverse Technique (GTT) and is a Level 2 TWIST Sport Conditioning Coach.

Steve’s treatment philosophy includes using a combination of manual and dry-needling techniques to restore normal joint and tissue mobility and then applying specific & focused exercise techniques to restore function and minimize injury reoccurrence.

Steve’s area of interest includes treating complex shoulder problems and spinal instabilities. He has had success treating a wide variety of clients including national level athletes, rowers, gymnasts, trampolinists, musicians & ‘weekend warriors’.
